Today I scheduled my second author photo shoot for a 2009 book.  Next year will be a good exposure year--the article coming out in The Writer, and these two books with my photos on the jackets.

One of the books coming out will be a young adult title by Jacqueline Kelly. She sent me the first chapter to read so we could set an atmosphere for her photo shoot and it is amazing, a literary-level historical.

The second is an adult thriller by Gaylon Greer, The Price of Sanctuary. We found a great "sanctuary" feeling location for his shoot (although running it tightly cropped in black and white on the publisher site sort of killed the effect...sigh. Hopefully the jacket version will be in color.)

If I can't get my own books out, I can live vicariously through my photo clients!

Amazing! I finally got my sleigh all decorated in preparation for my holiday photo season, and who should show up to cheer me on but -- a deer!

She hung around the whole time I dragged the sleigh outside and took pictures, but even whole kernel sweet corn couldn't convince her to take the position of honor!

But even so, it was a sparkly happy afternoon! Like a little pre-holiday gift!
